On a long drive home from Ohio to Missouri, my husband and I decided to stop in Terre Haute for a meal. Searching through my Yelp app, looking for an alternative to chain restaurants and foul fast food, I found Homey's. You can't really go wrong when nearly every review was given 5 STARS. We took the extra time and miles off the beaten path and were not in the least disappointed! I ordered the hand breaded catfish with coleslaw and greens. The catfish was AMAZING!!! Crispy, crunchy cornmeal and seasoning on the outside.... deliciously moist and juicy on the inside. Quite literally, the best catfish I have EVER eaten in my 59 years! The greens were just like my Grandma (from Tennessee) used to make and the house made coleslaw was the perfect complement, since they didn't serve tartar sauce. My husband ordered the half chicken and it was also cooked to perfection....smokey, moist, fall off the bone. It's clear that they take their time slooooowww cooking! It was all so good that we ordered a pound of their shredded beef, some chicken wings, coleslaw and potato salad to take home. They sent us away with a generous amount of their lip-smacking BBQ sauce and away we went! The family enjoyed dinner that night, as much as we had enjoyed lunch. Thank you, Homey's for a delightful experience!!!!!

Best BBQ in town. Only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Seating is tight and decor is spare, but the rib tips are where it is at. The Kansas City-style meat is superb.

Only open Thursday through Saturday, homey's is the place to go in town for killer KC style ribs and tips, and some of the best shredded pork you will ever eat. Fried catfish is great here also, and their sides of Mac & cheese or greens are excellent.

When Peyton is in town, this is where he eats. nuff said. Really the que is good, fresh cooked outside on the grills, good meat, pies and fresh potatoes! I like the rib tips or the rib sandwich (off the bone) plenty of meat and lots of flavor. I have used HOmeys for a catering party and we had plenty of food and got lots of compliments. Best bbq in town - bar none. no dry meat here that you have to add sauce to cover the drymeat.

Love it. Love it. Love it. The owner, (Homey I guess) is hilarious. The grub is amazing. My wife is addicted to their catfish. I stick with the pork (ribs, tibs, etc.). The best in Terre Haute, and one of the best in Indiana. There is almost no seating (2 small tables and a picnic table), a small gravel area for parking, and it's only open three days a week. None of that matters because the food is so delicious. If you like barbeque, eat here.

Excellent BBQ and friendly folks. We had the half chicken - which was fall off the bone cooked, but still moist and tasty. And the pulled pork sandwich got a high rating from my wife. (It was loaded so much, it was an eat with a fork kind of sandwich.)

Best BBQ in town, hands down! I usually get the half chicken when I come here. No one else barbecues chicken nearly as well as Homey's in Terre Haute. I've had BBQ at St. Louis and Memphis and I think Homey's can actually hold its own against some of the BBQ giants in these cities. There's a lot of soul and homeliness to the food here. This is one of my favorite dining spots in Terre Haute and I would hate to see this place go, which is why I gave it 5 stars.

I am from TN so memphis bbq is in my blood. When I heard there was a bbq joint in IN I laughed. Now that I tried it I must say some of the best bbq I've had. This is a must stop if you are in the area.

Best BBQ! I am an eastcoaster passing through Terre Haute for a day. Luckily, I arrived on one of the three days this place is open! By far one of the best BBQ joints I've ever been to. I had the rib tips glazed in their delicious homemade BBQ sauce, along with their to die for potato wedges, wholesome and lightly seasoned. Everyone I went with was pleased, to say the least.
